TJ Search has been retained by a sophisticated real estate investment platform managing over £2bn of diversified assets to identify an exceptional leader who will drive strategic asset management across a portfolio spanning commercial and mixed-use properties throughout the UK.

The Opportunity - This newly created role reflects the organisation's ambitious growth trajectory and commitment to extracting maximum value from an increasingly complex portfolio. Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, the successful candidate will establish and lead a best-in-class asset management function, setting the strategic direction for portfolio performance whilst building a high-performing team capable of delivering sustained outperformance.
The appointee will possess the commercial acumen to identify value creation opportunities, the strategic insight to develop comprehensive asset business plans, and the leadership capability to influence across investment, development, and capital markets functions.

Key Accountabilities - The Head of Asset Management will lead the development and execution of asset-level strategies that optimise risk-adjusted returns across the portfolio, incorporating active management initiatives, capital expenditure programmes, and strategic repositioning opportunities.
The role requires establishing robust portfolio governance frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting systems that provide transparency to stakeholders whilst enabling data-driven decision-making at asset and portfolio level.
The successful candidate will cultivate productive relationships with institutional investors, joint venture partners, and external stakeholders, representing the organisation's asset management capabilities and track record with authority and credibility.
The position involves directing complex asset repositioning projects, working collaboratively with acquisitions, development, and finance teams to execute value-add strategies that enhance income profiles and capital values.
Building and mentoring a team of accomplished asset managers will be central to the role, creating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the function.

Candidate Profile - TJ Search seeks an MRICS qualified professional with demonstrable progression to senior leadership within institutional real estate environments. The ideal candidate's career trajectory will evidence increasing responsibility for portfolio performance, team leadership, and strategic contribution at board or executive committee level.
The successful appointee will possess comprehensive understanding of real estate investment strategies, asset performance metrics, and the economic drivers affecting different property sectors, combined with the analytical rigour to interrogate complex performance data whilst maintaining strategic perspective on portfolio objectives.
Proven capability in leading material asset repositioning initiatives is essential, with tangible examples of value creation through active management, planning enhancement, or strategic tenant engagement.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities are required, with the successful candidate being comfortable presenting investment theses and portfolio strategy to sophisticated institutional audiences.
The role demands intellectual curiosity and commercial awareness to anticipate market shifts and position the portfolio advantageously ahead of cyclical turns.
