Team Manager

Cornwall Council is dedicated to providing outstanding children’s social care services that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people across the county. We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Team Manager to lead a frontline children’s social work team. This pivotal role involves managing and supporting social workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred practice while driving continuous improvement and partnership working.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support your team: Provide effective management, supervision, and professional development for social workers to ensure high standards of practice and staff well-being.

• Ensure quality and compliance: Monitor casework, review performance, and uphold statutory duties and safeguarding responsibilities in line with legislation and Cornwall Council policies.

• Promote collaborative working: Build strong partnerships with children, families, schools, health services, and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children.

• Drive service improvement: Contribute to service development, participate in audits and inspections, and implement best practice across the team.
