About the role
SHO / Specialty Doctor - Acute Medicine - Altnagelvin 3 Months
Grayscale Medical is recruiting an SHO or Specialty Doctor for a full-rota locum position in Acute Medicine at Altnagelvin Hospital, Western Health and Social Care Trust. This is a 3-month engagement commencing 4th May 2026 at a £50–£55/hr assignment rate.
The post covers full rota duties in the Acute Medicine department at Altnagelvin, Londonderry. The department sees a high volume of acute medical presentations and the successful candidate will be expected to work across day, evening, and night shifts as required by the rota.
This is a great opportunity for General Medicine SHO locum doctors and Specialty Doctor locums seeking NHS work in Northern Ireland. Incomplete CVs will not be shared with the department. Accommodation assistance is not available through the trust.
Requirements:
- Foundation Year 2 / SHO or Specialty Doctor grade
- Acute Medicine or General Medicine background
- Encompass EPR training
- Valid GMC registration with licence to practise
- AccessNI clearance (mandatory for all WHSCT locums)
- Right to work in UK
- Up-to-date CV with no gaps unexplained
- Two recent clinical references
