About the role
We are recruiting an experienced Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) Doctor to join a busy, well-supported Urgent Care Clinic in London. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering high-quality urgent care services to adults and children in a modern healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will provide safe, effective and patient-centred care while supporting the continuous development of clinical services and maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with urgent but non-life-threatening conditions.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based clinical care in accordance with GMC and national clinical guidelines.
- Request and interpret appropriate diagnostic investigations.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support service development and contribute to maintaining high clinical standards.
- Maintain professional registration, mandatory training and continuing professional development (CPD).
- Ensure appropriate referral and escalation of patients where necessary.
- Promote excellent patient experience and compassionate care.
Essential Requirements
- Current GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- A&E/Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience.
- Paediatric clinical experience.
- Minimum of two years’ post-qualification clinical experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications Required
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent).
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
- Valid Advanced Life Support certification (desirable if not essential).
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and mandatory clinical training.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within an Urgent Care Centre.
- Minor illness and minor injury management experience.
- Leadership or clinical supervision experience.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to continuous service improvement.
- Patient-focused, professional and compassionate approach.
