Long Term Futures are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school based in Derby (DE3). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and structured environment that focuses on helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The school supports pupils aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs, including autism, SEMH, communication difficulties and complex learning needs, with all pupils holding an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

About the role:

• Engage and motivate students
• Demonstrate empathy with and an appreciation of the care needs of students
• Implement specific interventions to meet student needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers, professionals and families to deliver personalised learning plans
• Provide 1:1 tailored and small group support for pupils with learning difficulties. This is across the years 11-16-year-olds
• Inspire trust and confidence in students and colleagues

 About You:

• Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs in school or youth work setting
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with students
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach to challenges
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally
• Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community
• Have a clear and precise understanding of how children with special needs, Autism and complex behaviour learn.
