About the role

Are you at the beginning of your HR career and looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, gain hands-on experience and progress into an HR Advisor role?

We are recruiting for an HR Administrator to join an established business in Scarborough.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some initial HR experience who is keen to learn, develop and build a long-term career within Human Resources.

Working closely with an experienced HR Manager, you will receive guidance, training and support whilst gaining exposure to a wide range of HR activities, from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations administration, payroll and learning and development.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the HR Manager and wider HR department.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and personnel files.
  • Supporting recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews and preparing employment contracts.
  • Coordinating new starter onboarding, inductions and right-to-work checks.
  • Managing employee documentation, including contract changes, promotions and probation reviews.
  • Maintaining sickness, absence and holiday records.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for general HR queries from employees.
  • Organising training courses, maintaining training records and monitoring mandatory training requirements.
  • Preparing employee information for monthly payroll and supporting benefits administration.
  • Assisting with HR reporting, policy updates and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives.
  • Working alongside the HR Manager to gain exposure to wider HR activities and develop your knowledge.
We're looking for someone with some previous HR administration experience who is at the early stages of their HR career and keen to progress.

Ideally, you will have a CIPD Level 3 qualification, be working towards one, or be interested in completing the qualification as part of your development.

You'll have a good understanding of HR administration processes, confidence working with confidential employee information and a genuine interest in developing your knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Thursday 8:30am-5pm with an early finish every Friday at 2:30pm, earning a salary between £32,000-£34,000 depending on experience.

If you're looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your HR career with a business that will invest in your development, we'd love to hear from you.
