We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Developer to join an exciting project focused on transforming an existing Next.js and Supabase proof-of-concept into a scalable, production-ready platform. This fully remote contract role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical direction, assess inherited systems, and guide key architectural decisions within a collaborative environment.

The platform is a private member network designed to support member discovery, profile management, community engagement, events, resources, and mentorship workflows. This role is ideal for a technically strong developer who enjoys technical due diligence, system audits, and turning early-stage products into robust, maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the current Next.js and Supabase proof-of-concept and identify technical risks, limitations, and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct a detailed technical audit and provide recommendations for scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Develop a roadmap for refactoring and evolving the platform into a production-ready solution.
• Lead technical discussions and architectural decision-making across the project.
• Determine when components should be rebuilt versus refactored based on long-term business requirements.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and align technical solutions with organisational objectives.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Maintain and update technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support deployment planning and production-readiness activities.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing applications with Next.js.
• Proven experience working with Supabase and modern web application architectures.
• Strong background assessing and improving existing codebases.
• Experience conducting technical audits and system due diligence.
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural and refactoring decisions.
• Strong understanding of production deployment processes and application optimisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience delivering scalable, maintainable solutions within fast-paced environments.
