Senior Systems Engineer job in Surrey – DOE

A leading specialist manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work across the entire systems engineering lifecycle, contributing to the design, development, integration, and delivery of complex technical solutions within a highly regulated environment.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects, working both independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. The position offers exposure to challenging engineering programmes and the opportunity to influence system design from concept through to acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including design, development, testing, integration, and acceptance.
• Deliver complex system design and implementation activities within highly regulated environments.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Analyse, define, and document system and acceptance requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Apply modern software engineering principles to support system development activities.
• Participate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
• Proven track record delivering complex system design, development, and integration projects.
• Experience working within defence or other highly regulated industries.
• Good understanding of modern software design principles.
• Experience developing software using C++, Java, and C#.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies and system communications.
• Experience defining and specifying system acceptance requirements.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
