Ready to Step Up? Trainee SEN / CABAS Teacher

Location: Near Guildford / Cranleigh (Free transport/parking provided)

Hours: 36.75 hours per week (Full-time & Part-time options available, minimum 3 days including Tuesdays & Fridays)

Contract: Term-time only

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Nursery Worker feeling hit by a career ceiling? If you are ready to move away from standard classroom support and step into a role where you actually design, plan, and lead teaching sessions, this is your next step up the career ladder.

We are seeking ambitious, motivated educators looking to elevate their careers by joining a specialist educational facility as a Trainee SEN / CABAS Teacher (also known as an SEN Behaviour Analyst).

Instead of just managing a classroom, you will receive extensive, fully funded training to become a specialist in behaviourally-based teaching. Working 1:1 and in small groups with autistic pupils, you will use specialised support plans to accelerate learning and make a direct, measurable impact on their lives.

  • Fast-Track Promotion: Clear internal career advancement opportunities to senior roles such as Lead Teacher and Class Supervisor.

  • Fully Funded Qualifications: * Access to high-level Education & Childcare courses including RQF CACHE Levels 2, 3 & 4 in Early Years, Learning Difficulties, and Teaching & Learning.

    • Behaviour analysis specific qualifications including CABAS teaching ranks, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) 40-hour courses, and certifications with the UK Society for Behaviour Analysis.

    • Industry-recognised certified training in PROACT-SCIPr-UK® behaviour management, Safeguarding, First Aid, and Leadership & Line Management.

  • Funded Master's Degrees: Opportunities to fully fund your Master's qualification in Behaviour Analysis and/or High Incidence & Disabilities.

  • Expert Mentorship: Receive regular supervision and direct mentorship from some of the UK's leading and internationally recognised Behaviour Analytic experts.

Package & Benefits
  • Financial Incentives: £1,000 joining bonus, regular annual salary and pay progression, and a performance-related bonus scheme.

  • Excellent Holidays: Term-time only working with 56 days of school holidays plus bank holidays.

  • Multidisciplinary Team: Collaborate daily with speech & language therapists, occupational therapists, and behaviour analysts to expand your professional network.

  • Easy Commuting: Free daily transport provided to and from school from Guildford and Cranleigh, plus free on-site parking.

  • Company Perks: Pension scheme, staff recognition days, high street discount platform, and a comprehensive wellbeing and employee assistance program.

Core Responsibilities
  • Move beyond general support to design, plan, and deliver individualised teaching sessions focused heavily on communication, social interaction, and vital life skills.

  • Provide behaviourally-based teaching and positive reinforcement to help autistic pupils achieve their full potential.

  • Participate in breaktime duties, playground socialisation, snack times, and off-site educational trips.

  • Support pupils with a high level of need, following individual behaviour guidelines and assisting with personal care (feeding, toileting) where necessary.

  • Contribute to curriculum maintenance, research, and your own continuous personal development.

Requirements to Take the Next Step
  • Experience: Proven professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children and disabilities (your TA background is highly valued here!).

  • Education: Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths.

  • Resilience: Comfortable working with pupils experiencing high levels of need, including dysregulated behaviours, and a proven ability to stay calm in high-pressure environments.

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including twisting, stooping, and working at a lower height.

  • Mindset: A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Please Note: The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as part of a strict commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
