We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Hove. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive school community where staff work together to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs through 1:1 interventions and small group support, helping children to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and school leadership to provide high-quality support that enables children to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
Delivering small group interventions to support academic progress
Assisting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and other SEND requirements
Supporting learning across the curriculum
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive social interactions
Implementing behaviour and support strategies where required
Monitoring pupil progress and reporting observations to teachers
Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
Previous experience working in a primary school or educational setting
Experience supporting children with SEND
Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or a related field
