We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Practitioner to join a welcoming SEND school in Croydon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and wants to make a positive difference to their education, development and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will work closely with teachers and other members of the school team to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
You will play an important role in helping pupils access their learning, develop their confidence and independence, and make progress both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing individual and small-group support to pupils

Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

Helping pupils access and engage with classroom activities

Supporting pupils with their communication, social and emotional development

Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop self-regulation skills

Supporting pupils to develop independence and life skills

Following individual learning and support plans

Working closely with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils’ needs

Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement

Supporting a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Assisting with classroom activities and practical learning

Supporting pupils during break times, lunchtimes and other activities where required

About You
We are looking for a caring, patient and resilient Learning Support Practitioner who is passionate about helping children and young people achieve their potential.
The ideal candidate will be:

Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND

Patient, understanding and empathetic

Confident working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

Reliable, professional and committed

A strong communicator with pupils and colleagues

Resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations

Positive and enthusiastic about supporting pupil development

Experienced working with children, young people, SEND, SEMH or additional needs is desirable but not essential

What We Offer

£100–£120 per day

Full-time hours, 8:30am–3:30pm

Monday to Friday, term time

Pay & Holiday Pay
The pay stated is inclusive of the additional 12.07% PAYE holiday pay.
