A growing and well-established specialist recruitment agency is looking for an ambitious Blue Collar Recruitment Consultant to join its construction recruitment team.

The business specialises in supplying skilled and semi-skilled workers to construction and built environment projects, working with a strong network of clients and candidates across the sector.

The Role

As a Blue Collar Recruitment Consultant, you will be responsible for sourcing, recruiting and placing skilled and semi-skilled workers into temporary and permanent positions across the construction sector.

This is a fast-paced, target-driven role combining recruitment, sales, business development and account management.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and recruit blue-collar construction workers, including labourers, groundworkers, tradespeople and site staff.

• Build and maintain a strong candidate database through advertising, networking and proactive sourcing.

• Develop new business through outbound calls, client visits and networking.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

• Take detailed vacancy requirements from clients and identify suitable candidates.

• Screen and interview candidates to assess their skills, experience and availability.

• Manage candidate bookings, availability and compliance.

• Coordinate workers attending construction sites.

• Maintain regular communication with clients and candidates.

• Negotiate rates and terms where required.

• Manage vacancies from initial instruction through to successful placement.

• Ensure candidates have the relevant qualifications, documentation and right-to-work checks.

• Maintain accurate records using internal CRM and recruitment systems.

• Meet and exceed weekly and monthly placement, sales and revenue targets.

• Develop your own network of candidates and construction industry contacts.

About You

The ideal candidate will be driven, commercially minded and confident dealing with both clients and candidates.

You will ideally have:

• Previous recruitment, sales or construction industry experience.

• Knowledge of the UK construction sector and blue-collar workforce.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• A confident telephone manner.

• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.

• The ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.

• A proactive approach to business development and candidate sourcing.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Resilience and a positive attitude.

• A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
