Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Offer 1:1 and small-group support to children with Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) or ASD.

  • Assist in delivering EHCP outcomes under the direction of the school SENDCo.

  • Adapt learning activities using visual timetables, PECS, or sensory tools to encourage pupil focus.

  • Promote positive behavior management and emotional well-being using structured praise.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate progress logs and notes for parent handovers.


Requirements for the Role
  • Practical experience in a child-centered environment with a focus on special needs support.

  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting diverse learning requirements.

  • Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in both English Language and Mathematics.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
