Role Purpose

The Family Time Service has been set up to arrange and facilitate all supervised sessions for our children in care. The aim is to provide a safe space for children to spend time with their parents and wider family members, whether that is at the family resource centre or in a community setting. We have a dedicated team of experienced contact workers whose role it is to make sure the children are safe and enjoy time with their families.


Main Responsibilities

To carry out supervised contacts at named venues or in the community. This is to include transporting children to and from contact where required.

To observe & record all sessions of work undertaken in a clear, precise, factual & timely manner and urgently report any concerns to the allocated social worker and the Contact Service.

To ensure all plans, reports, databases, case recordings, files and all other administrative tasks relevant to the service are maintained to a high professional standard in accordance with the Directorate's guidance and that communication with colleagues in other services/agencies is appropriate, current and accurate.


The Ideal Candidate

Experience of working with children/young people & families.

A non-judgmental and non-discriminatory approach at all times.

Experience of dealing with difficult situations in a calm, supportive and caring manner.

A sensitive approach to working with children and their families.

Experience of working with children/young people with physical/learning disabilities.
