About the role
Senior Payroll Administrator – Permanent – Burscough – up to £32k per annum (DOE)
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful, growing organisation in a senior capacity within their finance team in Burscough! Our client is an engineering specialist who are a market leader in their field; boasting a global workforce and a multi-million pound turnover. Due to an increase in workload and continued growth, they are looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join a small, friendly and established team at their Head Office. The role requires previous experience of full end-end payroll processing, a sound understanding of UK payroll legislation and hands-on knowledge of pensions auto-enrolment.
Working alongside the Payroll Supervisor in a team of 3, the role involves:
- Processing monthly payroll for 500 employees across 4 companies within the Group (full end-end payroll)
- Managing new starters, leavers and contractual changes
- Calculating timesheets, overtime, subsistence and probationary period sick pay
- Processing all statutory payments – SSP, SMP, SPP, etc
- Administering court orders, company car/car allowance/fuel deductions
- Completing shadow payments for overseas workers
- Administering salary sacrifice schemes and managing employee share scheme deductions
- Managing pensions administration – auto-enrolment, company schemes, AVC deductions, National Minimum Wage compliance checks and employee eligibility reviews
- Completing pensions uploads and maintaining pensions portals
- Reviewing payslips and payroll reports prior to payroll running
- Submitting RTI information accurately to HMRC and issuing P45s
- Reconciling and validating payroll information
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring they align with HR records
- Preparing monthly payroll journals and completing general ledger reconciliations
- Acting as key contact for payroll queries and working closely with HR to resolve employee payroll issues
- Creating Excel spreadsheets to track bonus payments and distributing for management review
- Providing cover for weekly payroll processing for holidays – 200 employees across 3 companies
