Teaching Assistant

West Ashton Church of England (V.A.) Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join its vibrant team on a part-time basis and provide support to pupils, starting as soon as possible.

Working Hours: Part time (10 hours per week, Monday-Friday - Flexible on days and times - 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training days). Contract: Fixed term (until 21st July 2027). Required: ASAP. 

Located in the beautiful village of West Ashton, just outside the county town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, we are an ambitious and friendly school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11 years. Our school community works together to develop our vision and Christian values (Serve, Hope, Include, Navigate, Endeavour), which are at the heart of our school and underpin all we do. Our goal is to give each pupil a thirst for learning, which continues with them throughout their life. As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to support children of all abilities, including those requiring SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO.

• Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;

• Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
• Can be a strong team player as well as use your own initiative;
• Has a positive and flexible attitude.
• Has experience of supporting children’s learning.
