CNC Machinist - Trevisan Location: Leeds
Pay: £18.50 - £20.50 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist confident with setting, operating and programming complex CNC machinery?

We're working with an established heavy engineering manufacturer in Leeds that is looking to recruit a skilled CNC Machinist to work predominantly on a Trevisan CNC machine.

This is a technically skilled machining role suited to somebody who understands the full machining process and is comfortable taking a job from drawing and setup through to finished component.

Previous Trevisan experience would be highly desirable, but it isn't essential. Experienced machinists coming from multi-axis machining centres or comparable complex CNC machinery will also be considered.

What you'll be doing

• Setting and operating Trevisan CNC machinery.
  
  
• Programming and editing CNC programmes.
  
  
• Setting jobs independently from engineering drawings.
  
  
• Machining complex, high-value engineering components.
  
  
• Selecting and setting cutting tools.
  
  
• Setting datums and tooling offsets.
  
  
• Determining and adjusting speeds and feeds.
  
  
• Carrying out tool changes.
  
  
• Monitoring machining cycles and optimising where appropriate.
  
  
• Working accurately to specified dimensions and tolerances.
  
  
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection.
  
  
• Using precision measuring equipment.
  
  
• Troubleshooting machining, tooling and programming issues.
  
  
• Taking responsibility for component quality throughout the machining process.
  
  

What we're looking for Ideally, you'll have:

• Strong CNC machining experience.
  
  
• Ability to set CNC machinery independently.
  
  
• CNC programming capability.
  
  
• Programme editing experience.
  
  
• Experience machining complex engineering components.
  
  
• Confidence reading detailed engineering drawings.
  
  
• Strong tooling knowledge.
  
  
• Understanding of speeds, feeds and offsets.
  
  
• Experience working accurately to tight tolerances.
  
  
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
  
  

Previous experience with Trevisan machinery would be particularly valuable.

• Multi-axis CNC machining.
