The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to support services on an offshore Island.

This locum opportunity offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule starting ASAP, for a duration of at least 3 months, providing consistent work within a hospital setting. The role will involve a combination of ward work, on-call commitments, and endoscopy sessions, making it well suited to experienced Gastroenterology Consultants who are confident managing a varied acute and elective workload.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality Gastroenterology care within an NHS hospital environment
• Undertake inpatient ward duties and contribute to consultant-led patient management
• Participate in the on-call rota as required
• Perform endoscopy procedures in line with service requirements
• Work collaboratively with consultants, specialist nurses, allied health professionals and wider multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to local governance standards
• Support safe and effective patient care across acute and elective services

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration
• Recent NHS experience at Consultant level in Gastroenterology
• Evidence of endoscopy competency with NED and JAG data available
• Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
