Fitzwaryn at St John’s

The development of Fitzwaryns’ satellite provision at St John’s School marks an exciting new chapter for us. Two purpose-built centres, located within a mainstream setting just four minutes from the main site, will expand capacity and enable up to 40 additional pupils to benefit from the school’s outstanding provision.

 About the Role

  1. Working pattern: 8:45-15:15 Monday-Friday, including a 30 minutes unpaid lunchbreak. We support flexible working and will consider part-time hours, as long as availability includes the beginning and/and end of each working day, which are essential for this role.
  2. Support pupils with SLD, PMLD and ASD in the classroom and across school
  3. Assist with learning activities, therapy programmes and IEP targets
  4. Support enrichment activities (swimming, PE, community visits, horse riding)
  5. Provide personal and intimate care when needed
  6. Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence
  7. Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, families and therapists

 About you

  1. GCSE English and maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent)
  2. Experience supporting children or young people (school, care, youth work etc.)
  3. Calm, patient, motivated and a strong team player
  4. Experience with children or young people with EHCPs or additional needs (desirable)
