Learning Support Assistant (RR 40)

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic LSA to join our friendly village Primary School and become an important part of our supportive team. This role is mainly supporting SEND pupils and experience in this area is disirable. This role will be doing targeted interventions in Year 6. You will join a friendly, dedicated and hardworking team committed to making a real difference to our children. We value enthusiasm, compassion and teamwork, and actively support staff wellbeing and professional development. Our Church of England Academy caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age and serves the parishes of Gilmorton, Kimcote Cum Walton, Ashby Magna, Bruntingthorpe, Peatling Parva, Upper Bruntingthorpe and Willoughby Waterleys.

This post is for 16.25 hours pw / fixed contract to end of 26/27 academic year / term time + 1 week/ Grade 5 Pt 7 - £13.48 per hour .

Our last Ofsted, in 2024, identified the school as Good, commenting:

“Pupils, parents and carers and staff know that they belong to the school family. The school is proud to play an integral part in the wider community, for example by joining in the Angel Festival at the church. The school’s vision of ‘growing well and flourishing together’ is evident in the strong community links within the school. Pupils are known well and seen as individuals. Pupils celebrate difference; for example, one said, ‘Everybody is different. If we were all the same, it would be boring.

The school has high expectations for what pupils can achieve. Pupils meet these expectations”

The role will include;

• Leading and supporting our lunchtime club, providing children with a welcoming, enjoyable and inclusive space.
• Supporting childen with social, emotional and mental helath (SEMH) needs, helping them to regulate, build positive relationships and engage successfully in school.
• Using creativity and intiative to provide engaging activites and opportunities for children
• Working alongside Teachers and Support staff to provide consistent and nurturing support.
• Delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupils who require addtional help to make progress in their learning
• Providing focussed support for pupils in Upper KS2, including reinforcing key skills in English and Mathematics.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is warm, patient and approachable
• Builds positive relationships with children
• Has experience or an interest in supporting childen with range of needs, including SEMH
• Has a calm and nurturing approach
• Enjoys being creative and thinking of ways to engage children
• Has good literacy and numarcy skills and is confident supporting learning in upper KS2
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Is committed to helping every child feel successful and included

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop their experinece across pastoral support SEMH and learning interventions.
