As part of our ongoing mission to support students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), we are expanding our dedicated Learning Support Team at Seaton Valley High School

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant (Band 4) to join our team. Working under the direction of the SENCo, you will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their individual targets and in helping to deliver a high-quality, accessible curriculum. You will be committed to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to reach their full potential.

Ideally, candidates will have five GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent), including English and Maths*. A Teaching Assistant or Special Needs Support qualification is preferred. This role involves working closely with named students with ASD, so the ability to build effective, positive relationships with students, and be able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity and resilience. You should also be able to create relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals.


The role is five days per week, term-time only plus one training day at the start of the school year. Initial working hours are expected to be Monday and Friday, 8.30am -3.05pm, with a 30-minute lunch break each day. Please note that this working pattern may change from time to time to meet the operational needs of the schools.
