About the role

Job summary

Join the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and contribute to the security of the Defence Estate. DIO supports Defence personnel to live, work, train, and deploy with a strong focus on sustainability. DIO forms part of the National Armaments Director Group within MOD and our projects range from delivering net zero carbon accommodations to maintaining runways for F35 fighter jets, making our work unique both in the UK and internationally.

The DIO Personnel Security Department manages over 6,000 vetting applications annually for contracted personnel. As a valued member of a small team, you will support the administration and management of these applications, as well as oversee the clearance lifecycle for around 30,000 personnel.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a driven and professional individual who will be responsible for quality assuring and sponsoring requests for security clearances for the DIO contractor community.

As such, you will engage with United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) to raise requests, taking ownership of cases and supervising them through to completion. The successful candidate will also participate in production and dispatch of passes that are vital to enable access to certain MOD establishments.

You will coordinate your own workload, ensuring priority tasks are handled as such, ensuring all automated UKSV responses are logged and correctly actioned. You will maintain up to date vetting records, crafting resilience and strength within the team.

We aim for a high standard of work and look for team members with a keen eye for detail.

Whilst a certain amount of work will be able to be conducted from the home environment, you will also be encouraged to spend 60% of your working week in the office to ensure the optimum success and development of the Personnel Security Department. Full-time attendance to the office will be required until training is complete.
