About the role

Morson Edge Finance are proud to be the trusted exclusive recruitment partner to Urenco and are currently supporting the appointment of a Group Tax Analyst (Compliance & Reporting).

Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low-carbon energy, operating at the forefront of the transition to a sustainable, net-zero world.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing tax experience who is looking to continue developing their career within the inhouse Group Tax function of a major international organisation.

Working as part of Urenco’s eight strong UK Group Tax team, you will gain broad exposure across UK and international tax compliance, reporting and project work. You will develop practical experience across Corporation Tax, VAT, Pillar Two, IFRS and FRS 101 tax reporting, alongside wider areas including R&D tax incentives, capital allowances, transfer pricing and tax governance.

Urenco will support your continued professional development, including company funded professional training and paid study leave towards ATT, CTA or ACCA qualifications.

The role

Supporting Urenco’s Group Tax Managers, you will have first-preparer responsibility for a range of tax activities, with support and review from experienced members of the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing UK Corporation Tax returns and computations, VAT filings and Pillar Two compliance.
  • Preparing tax analysis and disclosures for Urenco’s interim and full-year Group reporting under IFRS and UK subsidiary accounts under FRS 101.
  • Preparing tax input into budgets and business plan forecasts.
  • Supporting R&D tax incentive claims and capital allowances analysis.
  • Supporting compliance with Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence requirements.
  • Assisting with tax policies, procedures, transfer pricing analysis and reporting.
  • Undertaking wider UK tax analysis and working with external advisers where appropriate.
  • Providing Tax support to other teams across Urenco.

What we’re looking for:

You may already be studying towards a relevant professional qualification such as ATT, CTA or ACCA, which would continue to be supported and fully funded.

You will also demonstrate:

  • You must have some existing Tax experience to be considered for this opportunity.
  • A genuine and considered interest in developing your career specifically within Tax.
  • A genuine interest in Urenco and the Nuclear sector, with evidence that you have taken the time to understand both the organisation and the industry.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability and confidence in your ability to perform well in numerical reasoning and aptitude testing.
  • A high level of competency with MS Excel, including the use of formulas.
  • An engaging and curious approach, with the confidence and communication skills to work effectively with and build relationships across a range of key stakeholders.
  • A high level of commitment, attention to detail and pride in the quality of your finished work.
  • A desire and ability to learn, grasp new concepts quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Experience of Alphatax and/or SAP would be desirable but is not essential, as training will be provided.

Important information when applying

We are particularly interested in understanding why Tax and why Urenco. As part of your application, please include a brief, on your cv, not a cover letter, personally written explanation covering:

  • What specifically interests you about Tax and why you want to develop your career in this area.
  • What specifically interests you about Urenco and the Nuclear sector and why you would like to build your career within this environment.

We are looking for genuine, considered responses that reflect your own motivations and research rather than AI generated answers.

Applications that do not clearly demonstrate an interest in both Tax and Urenco/the Nuclear sector may not be progressed.

  • Hybrid working, with up to two days working remotely per week on average, flexible start and finish times, and a 1.30pm finish every Friday.
  • A flexible benefits package including life assurance and income protection, with the opportunity to tailor additional benefits to suit your individual lifestyle.
  • Paid time off for volunteering activities.
