The Assistant Accountant - Financial Reporting and Accounting will contribute to the production and delivery of high quality financial information and statutory and management reporting across Homes England's activities.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider organisation, the postholder will assist in the preparation of financial information and help maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards, government reporting requirements and internal policies.

The role will play an important part in maintaining a robust financial control environment, supporting improvements to reporting processes and governance arrangements, and providing financial and accounting expertise to deliver timely, reliable and meaningful information for internal and external stakeholders.
Person specification
You will be accustomed to working to tight deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs with strong attention to detail. A collaborative team player, you will build effective working relationships and contribute positively within an inclusive and supportive environment.
You will be comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels across Finance and the wider organisation, communicating clearly and professionally. Strong analytical skills are essential, alongside a desire to develop your accounting knowledge and professional expertise. You will also possess good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach and messaging to suit different audiences.
Experience of accounting systems, financial controls and technical accounting principles would be advantageous. You will be organised and resilient, capable of managing your own workload effectively while understanding the importance of delivering high-quality financial information to support the wider objectives of the Finance team and the organisation.
You will enjoy working in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, demonstrating initiative, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the confidence to influence and challenge constructively where appropriate.
You will hold good GCSEs and be willing to study towards an AAT qualification (or equivalent professional accounting qualification).
