Collections Executive – Tamworth

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Collections Executive to join our well-established client based in Tamworth on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, resilient and people-focused individual who enjoys speaking with customers, solving problems and achieving positive outcomes.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a Collections Advisor, Debt Recovery Advisor or Customer Account Executive.

This is not a sales role and is not Credit Control. You will be speaking directly with customers who have fallen into arrears with their invoice payments, helping them resolve outstanding balances and agreeing suitable payment solutions in a professional and empathetic manner.

Rates of Pay:

• £25,000 per annum
• Uncapped bonus scheme
• Realistic OTE of £35,000+

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 09:00 – 17:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break
• One day per week 09:00 – 17:30 with a 60-minute unpaid break
• Full-time permanent position

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Collections Executive are:

• Making outbound calls to customers in arrears with their invoice payments
• Aiming to resolve outstanding matters during the initial call wherever possible
• Handling inbound and outbound calls relating to overdue accounts
• Speaking with customers to understand their individual circumstances
• Agreeing suitable and realistic payment solutions
• Taking secure payments over the telephone quickly and efficiently
• Providing excellent customer service throughout every conversation
• Handling challenging or sensitive conversations calmly and professionally
• Using initiative and problem-solving skills to find appropriate solutions
• Maintaining a professional and empathetic approach at all times

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Collections Executive, you will need:

• Confident and professional communication skills
• A positive and resilient personality
• Ability to show initiative and think innovatively
• Strong listening and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm, professional and solutions-focused during challenging conversations
• Excellent customer service skills
• Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English, or equivalent
• Ability to successfully complete the required DBS and credit checks
• Clear credit history with no CCJs or defaults
