The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for SEND and inclusive practice across the primary phase, ensuring that all learners, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are supported, challenged and empowered to achieve their full potential. They will work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to secure high-quality provision, effective intervention and positive outcomes for learners, while monitoring progress, developing inclusive teaching and learning practices, and supporting staff to meet the needs of SEND learners. Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher for SEN and Learning Support, the Secondary SENCo and the Senior Leadership Team, they will contribute to a cohesive whole-school approach to SEND, inclusion and intervention, lead and manage support staff, and uphold the Academy's safeguarding and child protection responsibilities at all times.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the strategic development of SEND and inclusive practice across the primary phase.
- Champion high-quality provision, intervention and support for learners with additional needs.
- Work in partnership with staff, families and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for all learners.
- Lead and develop support staff while contributing to a cohesive whole-school approach to inclusion and intervention.
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and child protection.
