Post: Casual Exam Invigilators
Location: Thomas Hall School, Cowley Bridge Road, Exeter, EX4 5AD
Salary Range: Grade B, Pt 3-4 £13.28 - £13.49 per hour
Contract Type: Casual, part-time
Contract Hours: Variable, based on exam requirements
About the role
As an Exam Invigilator, you will ensure that fair and consistent conduct and environments for all examinations are maintained, making sure that examination regulations are adhered to in an environment that enables students to perform at their best. You could be supporting students on a one to one basis or in a group, with reading, writing, acting as a prompt and IT support dependent on their needs, or within the main exam hall.
Available hours will be communicated with all exam invigilators in advance to check availability and then based on the availability of the team a full exam schedule will be shared. This allows flexibility for existing commitments and exams for university students. This role can work around you and support your work-life balance.
About the successful candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in basic administration;
- Attainment of GCSE qualifications or equivalent (level 2 standard of education);
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent verbal, written and oral skills;
- Meticulous approach to work.

The building was part of Exeter University’s Duryard Halls of Residence for nearly 100 years before becoming a school. In 2023, Thomas Hall School joined Reach South Academy Trust.
