About the role
Are you an experienced and motivated pastoral lead who is passionate about supporting young people? A supportive secondary school in Walsall is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Lead to join their team, helping to ensure students are fully supported in their personal, social, and emotional development.
As a Pastoral Lead, you will play a key role in guiding and supporting students across the school, working closely with the senior leadership team, teaching staff, and external agencies. This role involves building strong relationships with students, managing behaviour effectively, and ensuring that barriers to learning are removed so that every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading on pastoral care across the school and supporting the well-being of students.
- Managing behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns in line with school policy.
- Supporting students with social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Working closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective support.
- Contributing to the wider school community and promoting positive relationships.
- Experience working in a pastoral or student support role, ideally in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm, approachable, and solution-focused under pressure.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and supporting students with additional needs.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
