About the role
Strategic
- Receive and execute production work plans and schedules.
- Carry out instrument integration, assembly, and calibration activities according to established procedures.
- Support engineering and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation of work performed.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and technical documentation.
- Build, assemble, integrate, and calibrate complex scientific instruments and subassemblies.
- Perform both mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
- Conduct functional testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality standards, manufacturing procedures, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, R&D, Production Engineering, Planning, and Technical Support teams.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas in line with 5S and best manufacturing practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Electronics or Mechanical background.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar environment, such as semiconductor, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
- Excellent computer skills.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of at least one engineering discipline, with a working overview of other engineering areas.
- Mechanical assembly and/or engineering experience.
- Electrical assembly and/or engineering experience.
- Experience in production mechanical and electronic testing, fault finding, and diagnostics.
- Experience working with computer-controlled instrumentation.
- Experience in precision mechanical and electrical assembly.
- Soldering and other electrical assembly skills.
- Experience using engineering drawings.
- Experience manufacturing cables from engineering cable drawings.
- Experience working with PCBs and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Experience with motor programming and testing.
