School Caretaker – Trust Estates Team

Location: Barnsley and surrounding areas
Hours: 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £115 to £130 per day
Contract: Full Time, Long Term

Provide Education are recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a Trust Estates team, supporting multiple school sites across Barnsley and the surrounding areas.

This is a long term, full time position working 7:00am to 3:00pm, five days per week. You will work as part of the wider Estates team, helping to ensure school buildings and grounds across the Trust are safe, maintained and ready for pupils and staff.

The RoleYour responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the day to day maintenance of multiple school sites across the Trust
• Completing general repairs and maintenance tasks
• Carrying out site, building and health and safety checks
• Identifying maintenance issues and reporting or resolving them where appropriate
• Supporting with painting, decorating and basic repair work
• Moving furniture, equipment and resources between areas when required
• Supporting contractors attending Trust sites
• Ensuring buildings, grounds and communal areas are maintained
• Responding to maintenance requests across different school sites
• Working alongside other members of the Trust Estates team
• Following safeguarding, health and safety and Trust procedures

What We Are Looking For

Previous experience within a school caretaker or estates position would be beneficial, however we are also interested in speaking with people who have experience within maintenance, facilities, property maintenance or other hands on roles.

As the position covers multiple schools, you should be comfortable travelling between Trust sites across Barnsley and the surrounding areas.

You will require an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
