Production Cell Leader

Pay: £17.94 – £18.73 per hour

My client a well established manufacturing and engineering company based in Altham is recruiting for a Cell Leader.

The role is working a permanent weekend shift. Friday, Saturday or Sunday 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am.

Candidates applying for this role must be looking for weekends long term

The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of manufacturing and assembly operations.

It would also be an advantage to have experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques and be up-to-date with Health and Safety at Work rules and procedures. This is a very “hands on” position and requires a pro-active, enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude who will be required to work closely with the Production Supervisor, Project Engineers, Quality Control, Health and Safety and other Cell Leaders.

Responsibilities will include:

• Production planning and scheduling of material requirements
• Labour requirements planning
• Training/multi-skilling of operatives
• Maintaining time standards
• Sustaining maximum output levels whilst ensuring quality standards are met
• Maintaining and enforcing discipline, ensuring personnel comply with company regulations at all times, particularly in respect of Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations
• Sustaining a high level of housekeeping
• Liaising with Department Managers, Project Engineers, Quality, H&S and other Cell Leaders

The successful candidate would ideally possess:

• Experience with continuous improvement / lean manufacturing
• An awareness Health and Safety at Work, Quality and Environmental procedures
• Strong communication, training and motivational skills
• Hands-on production skills
• The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and be:
• Well motivated, methodical and organised
• Able to meet and exceed customer expectations
• Able to follow and issue written and verbal instructions
• Extremely flexible in working time if required to meet the needs of the business.
