Nanny role in Reading- R1983

Start Date: ASAP – initially Wednesday & Thursday
Salary: £18–£20 per hour gross, depending on experience

A warm and welcoming family based in Reading is looking for an experienced, caring and proactive nanny to join their family.

The family have a lovely two-year-old daughter, with a new baby due in February. Their current nanny will be going on maternity leave in November, so they are looking for someone who can initially work Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout November, before increasing to full-time from 16th November when their current nanny begins maternity leave.

Schedule

Monday–Friday
8:00am–5:00pm

Duties include:

• Providing loving, attentive care for their two-year-old daughter, creating a safe, happy and nurturing environment while confidently taking the lead on her daily routine.
• Supporting all aspects of her day, including meals, naps, nappy changes and personal hygiene, ensuring she feels comfortable and cared for.
• Planning fun, engaging indoor and outdoor activities that encourage curiosity, learning and physical development, in line with EYFS principles.
• Taking the child out for age-appropriate activities, playgroups, walks and adventures.
• Managing child-related household tasks, including tidying play areas, cleaning feeding items and taking care of the child’s laundry.
• Working collaboratively with the family. Mum or Grandma will always be at home for additional support if needed, while the nanny will independently manage the child’s day-to-day care.
• Maintaining open, friendly and professional communication with the family.
• Supporting Mum with the newborn once the baby arrives in February, as appropriate.

About the role

This is initially a temporary maternity cover position, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The ideal nanny will be warm, nurturing and confident, with previous experience caring for toddlers. They should be proactive, organised and happy to take the lead while also working closely and respectfully alongside the family.
