Our client, a globally recognised law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Legal Risk & Compliance professional to join them on a permanent basis in their Leeds office – working as their new AML Advisor.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an experienced and professional team – working closely with the Senior AML Manager, MLROs and internal compliance staff across the organisation.
As the successful AML Advisor, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Acting as a subject matter expert in AML and Financial Crime laws for the firm’s offices across EMEA
- Assisting the Senior AML Manager and MLROs with AML and Financial Crime reporting
- Providing oversight of EDD reviews for high-risk clients and matters
- Escalating legal and reputational issues on AML, Sanctions and Financial Crime to the appropriate direct reports
- Independently completing CDD for new and existing clients
- Providing guidance and supervision with training for new and junior AML professionals
- Keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes surrounding AML and Financial Crime laws
- Supporting the Senior AML Manager and MLROs with both internal and external audits

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be educated to degree level (ideally LLB/GDL, however, this is not essential)
- Have substantial experience working within Legal Compliance/Business Intake from a law firm
- Be able to commute to the Leeds office 2-3 days per week
- Have a good understanding of AML and Financial Crime
- Ideally, have an understanding of Data Protection Laws applicable in EMEA
