About the role

Permanent Opportunity | Leeds Office
Competitive Salary | Hybrid Working

Our client, a globally recognised law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Legal Risk & Compliance professional to join them on a permanent basis in their Leeds office – working as their new AML Advisor.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an experienced and professional team – working closely with the Senior AML Manager, MLROs and internal compliance staff across the organisation.

As the successful AML Advisor, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert in AML and Financial Crime laws for the firm’s offices across EMEA
  • Assisting the Senior AML Manager and MLROs with AML and Financial Crime reporting
  • Providing oversight of EDD reviews for high-risk clients and matters
  • Escalating legal and reputational issues on AML, Sanctions and Financial Crime to the appropriate direct reports
  • Independently completing CDD for new and existing clients
  • Providing guidance and supervision with training for new and junior AML professionals
  • Keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes surrounding AML and Financial Crime laws
  • Supporting the Senior AML Manager and MLROs with both internal and external audits

Plus much more.

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:

  • Be educated to degree level (ideally LLB/GDL, however, this is not essential)
  • Have substantial experience working within Legal Compliance/Business Intake from a law firm
  • Be able to commute to the Leeds office 2-3 days per week
  • Have a good understanding of AML and Financial Crime
  • Ideally, have an understanding of Data Protection Laws applicable in EMEA
