About the role

Job summary

NS&I is one of the largest savings organisations in the UK with more than 24 million customers and over £240 billion invested. We are both a government department and an Executive Agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Our origins can be traced back more than 150 years to 1861.

A small company with a big reach, we offer a range of benefits including flexible working, a 9-day fortnight scheme, a performance-related variable pay bonus, a generous pension scheme and great opportunities for development. We care for colleagues, respect one another, invest in our people and manage talent effectively.

We are currently working in a hybrid way with colleagues expected to work at their chosen office location for 40% of their working month.

Job description

As part of NS&I’s Commercial Team, you will help provide clear visibility of contract, supplier and supply chain risks, issues and trends across our commercial portfolio, using available information to support proportionate MI, reporting and commercial decision-making.

Using your understanding of procurement, contracts and suppliers, you will help create and operate a practical approach that provides visibility of the risks in our supply chain. Risks may include financial stability and any other factors that could impact our direct suppliers and the supply chains of our most critical contracts. You will also support visibility of the overall performance, risk and compliance of our significant contract portfolio, currently worth over £1.05bn across 130+ contracts.

This role will support the Commercial Team, contract managers and senior contract owners by providing the data, reporting and insight they need to fulfil their roles. More importantly, you will help turn contract, supplier and performance information into clear MI and proportionate analysis, identifying relevant trends, issues and risks and explaining their practical commercial implications. This is an opportunity to shape how NS&I identifies, monitors and responds to commercial, supplier and contract risks across a high-value and strategically important portfolio.

This is a commercial/procurement risk and insight role that uses MI and reporting as supporting tools. It is not a specialist data analytics role.
