Finance Assistant

Horsham, West Sussex Alexander Lloyd Finance Assistant About the Position We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a busy and growing organisation. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, offering exposure across accounts administration, reconciliations, payroll support, reporting, and general financial operations. The successful candidate will be a motivated and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can build effective relationships across the business. Responsibilities Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate coding of financial transactions. Raising customer invoices and assisting with account queries. Maintaining accurate finance records and supporting data integrity across systems. Carrying out bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies. Assisting with credit control and cash allocation activities. Supporting month-end processes, including journal preparation and reporting. Assisting with payroll administration and pension-related tasks. Monitoring outstanding balances and liaising with internal stakeholders where required. Preparing financial information and reports for management review. Providing administrative support to the finance team and wider business. Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency. Supporting compliance with company policies and financial procedures. Experience & Skills Required Previous experience within a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping environment. Good understanding of transactional accounting processes. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines effectively. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn. Desirable Exposure to payroll or pension administration. Experience working within an SME environment.
