Key ResponsibilitiesSupporting Teaching and Learning- Work alongside teachers to support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences.
- Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and help them make progress.
- Adapt support and resources to meet the varying needs of pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
- Support the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning activities.
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote high expectations of behaviour, achievement and participation.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, helping them to feel safe, valued and included.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
- Encourage positive behaviour and model the school's values and expectations.
- Respond appropriately to pupils' welfare needs and contribute to safeguarding procedures.
- Support pupils during transitions, educational visits and enrichment activities.
- Help maintain a stimulating, welcoming and well-organised learning environment.
- Prepare, organise and maintain classroom resources and displays.
- Support teachers with administrative tasks that contribute to effective classroom operation.
- Assist with supervision during lessons and learning activities.
- Supervise pupils during lunchtime, promoting positive behaviour, safety and wellbeing.
- Support pupils in the dining hall and playground, helping to create a calm, enjoyable and inclusive environment.
- Encourage positive social interactions, cooperation and good manners.
- Facilitate playground games and activities where appropriate.
- Respond to minor incidents and ensure pupils' welfare needs are met.
- Communicate any concerns regarding behaviour, wellbeing or safeguarding promptly to appropriate staff.
- Participate in school events, trips and activities as required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals.
- Support the school's commitment to equality, inclusion and high achievement for all pupils.
- Undertake training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required by the school.
