Teaching Assistant

Location: Northfield

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with pupils who have a range of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism, physical disabilities, and communication needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will help create an inclusive and positive learning experience, supporting pupils to achieve their individual outcomes in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with complex learning difficulties, autism, and additional physical needs.
• Help implement individual education, care, and therapy programmes.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet a wide range of abilities.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required.
• Support the development of communication skills using a variety of communication methods and strategies.
• Encourage participation, independence, and engagement in learning activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide consistent support for pupils.

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, PMLD, SLD, autism, or complex learning needs.
