About the role
Admin Officer (AO)
Location: Northampton (85-87 Ladys Lane, NN1 3HQ)
* Pay: £12.86ph, increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks
* Working pattern: Mon-Fri, 9-5
* Assignment length: 6 months, with possibility of extension
* Clearance: Basic DBS
* Interview style: Face-to-face interviews
* On-the-job training will be provided

What you'll be doing:
* Preparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings
* Producing standard court/tribunal documents and drafting letters and correspondence to guidelines
* Managing key admin processes such as photocopying, filing, post opening and dispatch
* Creating and updating records on an in-house computer system and completing accurate data input
* Supporting listings and rota management, checking files, and ensuring materials are up to date
* Handling enquiries at the counter (face to face), and via phone and written correspondence
* Scheduling and preparing meeting rooms and supporting training/course logistics
* Clerking civil and family courts/tribunals and ensuring relevant documentation is available
* Processing casework documents (including claims, fines and fees, and legal aid details) with accuracy and speed
* Carrying out checks and verification against criteria, procedures and quality standards
* Producing basic statistical analysis reports and handling straightforward financial information where required
* Communicating professionally with court users, the judiciary, and external parties, providing excellent customer service

* Strong administrative ability and a careful, detail-focused approach to accuracy and quality
* Excellent customer service skills-calm, helpful, and polite in face-to-face and phone interactions
* Confidence working with computer systems for records, data input and producing documents
* Ability to work to targets for throughput and accuracy, especially during busy periods
* A flexible mindset and willingness to support ad hoc team needs across local office cover
* An interest in continuous improvement-using guidelines and discretion to suggest practical ways to improve
