We are seeking a flexible Science Specialist to join a thriving secondary school community in Okehampton for day-to-day subject and general supply cover. Focus on what you love most-teaching-without the administrative weight of a permanent classroom role.

What the Role Offers

• Zero Planning & Preparation: Walk in at 08:30, deliver provided cover work, and leave at 15:30 with your evening completely free.

• Full Flexibility: Choose which days you work each week-ideal for balancing family commitments, hobbies, or freelance work.

• Varied Workday: Deliver engaging Science cover in your specialist area alongside general supply coverage across secondary subjects.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned Science and general subject lessons effectively.

• Maintain a positive, productive environment in line with school behaviour policies.

• Support student progress and manage classroom dynamics during teacher absences.

• Leave detailed handover notes for returning class teachers.

Qualifications & Requirements

• QTS: Qualified Teacher Status.

• Subject Focus: Strong background in Secondary Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).

• Skills: Adaptable classroom approach with strong behaviour management.

• DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
