About the role
Fire Engineer / Fire Project Manager
The client is looking for a Fire Engineer / Fire Project Manager to oversee and coordinate fire safety across an airport transformation programme. The focus is on managing interfaces, risks, dependencies and construction phases from a fire safety perspective, while drawing on specialist fire SMEs when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central point of contact between Technical Services, Airport Fire Safety, project teams and contractors.
- Coordinate fire safety reviews and ensure recommendations are implemented.
- Manage fire safety risks, dependencies and interfaces across multiple concurrent projects.
- Oversee interim fire strategies, construction phasing and operational impacts.
- Ensure alignment between project delivery, airport operations and fire safety requirements.
- Report fire safety issues and decisions through programme governance forums.
- Support operational readiness, phased handovers and ongoing fire safety compliance.
Ideal Candidate
- 5-10 years' experience, although attitude and enthusiasm are valued over tenure.
- Strong engineering background with project/programme management skills.
- Able to understand complex systems and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of fire systems, ideally in an airport environment, but the ability to learn quickly is more important.
- Available to work 2-3 days per week on site at Stansted Airport.
The role is Insidie IR35 with a daily rate £450-£470 a day
