Pink Tile Education is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Bromley.
This role would suit someone who is confident working with challenging behaviour and has experience supporting children and young people with SEMH and SEND needs.
You will work with pupils across primary and secondary age groups, helping them manage their behaviour, regulate their emotions and overcome barriers that may be preventing them from fully engaging with education.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience as a Behaviour Support Worker, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, SEMH Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who is looking to use their skills within an educational setting.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils develop positive behaviours and strategies for managing challenging situations.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one and small-group behaviour support
Supporting pupils who display challenging, disruptive or difficult behaviour
Helping pupils identify and manage emotional and behavioural triggers
Supporting children to develop positive behaviour strategies
De-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
Establishing clear and consistent boundaries
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Encouraging pupils to engage positively with learning
Supporting pupils with SEMH and SEND needs
Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
Following individual behaviour and support plans
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
Helping create a calm, structured and safe environment

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is confident, resilient and consistent when working with challenging behaviour.
You should ideally have:

Previous experience working with challenging behaviour
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH
Experience working with SEND
The ability to remain calm and composed when situations escalate
Strong behaviour management skills
A patient, empathetic and non-judgemental approach
The confidence to set and maintain appropriate boundaries
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for helping young people make positive changes

Support Worker experience is highly desirable, particularly experience within residential care, youth work, mental health, behavioural support or other settings involving children and young people.
A driving licence is preferred, although not essential.
