Our client, a top UK law firm, is actively recruiting for a Qualified Lawyer to join them on a permanent basis in their Guildford office – working as their new Qualified Risk & Compliance Lawyer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance – you’ll assist in maintaining the highest standards of Legel, Ethical and Regulatory Compliance across the firm, as well as lead the day-to-day Data Protection matters. You’ll also be a senior advisor on a range of Legal Risk & Compliance matters – advising Lawyers and senior stakeholders, as well supervising and training junior members of the team.
As the successful Risk & Compliance Lawyer, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Providing advice to the firm on a range of legal and regulatory matters, including – AML, Conflicts, Data Protection and Professional Conduct
- Leading the day-to-day Data Protection matters within the Risk & Compliance function, working closely with their DPO
- Advising on client engagement letters and terms of business
- Preparing reports for senior management on Risk & Compliance issues
- Drafting and implementing new policies and procedures
- Advising on emerging regulatory and risk issues, including AI
Plus much more.
To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Be a Qualified Lawyer, minimum of 3 PQE
- Be able to commute to/attend the Guildford office at least twice per week
- Have strong knowledge of Data Protection law
- Have a deep understanding of Commercial Contracts, AML and Conflicts
- Ideally, have experience supervising of supervising/mentoring junior staff
