Our client, a top international law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced and commercially minded Qualified Lawyer to join them on a permanent basis in their London office – working within their Business Acceptance function at Counsel level.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join exceptional Office of the General Counsel team – working closely with the Business Acceptance Director. You’ll be providing high-qualify and expert level risk advisory support to the OGC Team, Business Acceptance Team and wider support staff – as well as supporting on commercial, legal and reputational risks.

As the successful Qualified Lawyer, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Facilitate the firm’s global client and matter acceptance processes
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and improvement of risk-based compliance policies, procedures and governance
  • Assist with delivering training in relation to business acceptance risks
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the wider teams and business leaders, providing practical risk-based guidance on Financial Crime, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Conflicts, CDD and Information Barrier issues
  • Supporting the firm’s MLRO/Deputy MLRO with internal suspicion reports
  • Assisting with monitoring, reviewing and reporting requirements surrounding sanctions

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:

  • Be a Qualified Lawyer (England & Wales or another common law or EU jurisdiction)
  • Have expert knowledge of Financial Crime, AML, CDD, Sanctions and Legal Risk
  • Ideally, have experience managing US conflict rules issues
  • Have extensive experience from a law firm environment
  • Have expert knowledge of legislation, ethical rules and guidelines relating to legal compliance issues
  • Be able to attend the London office on a regular basis
