We’re seeking Business Analysts to join HMRC’s Business Analysis Practice within the Chief Digital Product Office (CDPO). You’ll work in agile, multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of high-quality analysis across one or more business areas, helping shape services that impact millions.

The BA Practice oversees multiple business areas within CDPO, which include:
Business Tax
Personal Tax
Customer Engagement
Finance & Corporate Services
Response, Exceptions & Analytics
Security and Resilience Portfolio
Valuation Office
Business Analysis Delivery:
- Support the planning and execution of business analysis activities across projects.
- Apply BA Practice standards and methodologies to deliver consistent outcomes.
- Identify and define business problems and opportunities through evidence-based analysis.
- Work as part of a delivery/scrum team throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, validate, and document requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews to support analysis activities.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Practice Contribution:
- Contribute to the development of the BA Practice by sharing insights and learning.
- Champion the value of business analysis across your team and wider organisation.

Essential Criteria
- Experience working as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
- Ability to work across business and technical domains to support delivery.
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements.
- Familiarity with agile or digital delivery environments.
Desirable Criteria
- Exposure to public sector or government environments.
- Participation in BA communities or forums.
- Experience supporting or mentoring peers or junior colleagues.
