The Role
We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join the healthcare team within a well-established prison managed by one of the UK's leading private prison management companies.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients within a secure environment. What You'll Be Doing

Deliver high-quality primary care consultations within a secure prison healthcare setting.

Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Develop personalised treatment plans and prescribe medication in accordance with national clinical guidelines.

Manage long-term conditions, health promotion initiatives and preventative healthcare programmes.

Identify and appropriately manage patients with complex physical, mental health and substance misuse needs.

Work closely with nurses, mental health practitioners, pharmacists, substance misuse teams and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.

Refer patients to secondary care services where clinically appropriate and coordinate ongoing care.

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using electronic patient record systems.

Participate in clinical governance, safeguarding, audit and quality improvement activities.

Deliver care in accordance with prison security procedures while maintaining patient dignity, confidentiality and professional standards.
What We're Looking For
Applicants must:

Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.

Be included on the NHS England GP Performers List (or equivalent UK Performers List where applicable).

Have completed GP Specialty Training (CCT or equivalent).

Have recent experience working within General Practice, Primary Care, Urgent Care or Prison Healthcare.

Demonstrate excellent clinical judgement and the ability to manage complex patients autonomously.

Have strong communication, risk assessment and multidisciplinary working skills.

Be committed to delivering high-quality care within a secure and challenging environment.

Be familiar with electronic patient record systems.

Hold appropriate medical indemnity.

Meet all required compliance standards, including enhanced security clearance where required.
