The Opportunity

We are supporting an NHS Trust in South West England with the appointment of a Locum Consultant Dermatologist.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Consultant Dermatologist to join an established Dermatology service and provide high-quality specialist care to patients across the Trust.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of safe and effective Dermatology services throughout the assignment.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level Dermatology services across the Trust.

The role will include:

• Assessment and management of patients presenting with a wide range of Dermatological conditions
• Providing Consultant-level clinical decision-making, diagnosis and treatment
• Undertaking Dermatology clinics and specialist assessments
• Managing both new and follow-up patients
• Performing appropriate Dermatological procedures as required
• Providing advice and support to colleagues across the multidisciplinary team
• Working collaboratively with nursing, medical and wider multidisciplinary colleagues
• Supporting junior medical staff and contributing to teaching where required
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit and service improvement activities
• Ensuring safe, high-quality and patient-centred care

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Dermatology, or relevant experience for a locum appointment
• Previous NHS Consultant-level Dermatology experience
• Broad experience in General Dermatology
• Experience assessing and managing a wide range of Dermatological conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience working within an NHS Dermatology department
• Experience across a broad range of Dermatology services
• Experience undertaking Dermatological procedures
• Teaching and supervision experience
• Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
