The Role
We are seeking a Dental Therapist to join our growing community of healthcare professionals within a Community Dental Service. This role involves delivering assessment-led, preventive, and restorative care to children and adults in community-based settings, including patients with additional needs, complex medical conditions, or limited access to traditional dental services.
You will work autonomously within your scope of practice while collaborating closely with dentists, dental nurses, and wider healthcare teams to support equitable access to high-quality community dental care.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake clinical assessments and dental triage in line with scope of practice

Deliver preventive care, oral health education, and simple restorative treatments

Identify patients requiring referral for advanced treatment or specialist care

Work collaboratively with dentists, dental nurses, and community care teams

Adapt clinical approaches to meet the needs of vulnerable and additional-needs patients

Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in accordance with NHS standards

Uphold high standards of infection prevention, safeguarding, and clinical governance

Demonstrate professionalism, sound clinical judgement, and compassionate care at all times
Key Requirements

Professional Registration: GDC-registered Dental Therapist (active and in good standing)

Qualification: GDC-recognised Dental Therapy qualification
-
Experience: Previous UK experience in community, special care, or public dental services is desirable

Compliance: Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
