Freelance Project Manager

This role puts you on the delivery end of luxury retail work most coordinators only see from a distance – windows, pop-ups and experiential installations for the fashion and beauty houses at the very top of the market. The agency behind it designs, produces and installs everything in-house across a studio network spanning New York, London, Milan, Shanghai and Dubai. That end-to-end capability is rare in this space, and it means you see a project through from brief to shop floor rather than handing it off halfway.

It’s a business winning work and scaling – hiring across several markets at once – and this freelance seat is positioned as temp-to-perm.

The Role
You keep high-profile retail and experiential projects moving from initial brief to physical installation. Working alongside a Project Director and Senior Project Managers, you own the day-to-day: timelines, stakeholder communication, and coordination across designers, production teams and suppliers. Lead times here are short, and the work moves quickly, so your job is to hold the connective tissue between design intent and what actually lands in-store.

This is a genuine step up from coordination. You’ll have the chance to run smaller, contained pieces of work as the primary contact – moving from messenger to operator with a real stake in how projects and relationships run.

The Package
$600 – $750 per day
Hybrid working
Initial contract of 3+ months, with repeat-booking and temp-to-perm options

The Person
You’re currently a Project Coordinator, Production Coordinator or Project Manager in or around New York, working inside creative production, retail design, experiential or events.

Your background touches one or more of visual merchandising, pop-up production, fabrication, exhibition, set/scenic or brand activations. You’ve coordinated projects through design development, production and physical installation with suppliers and clients; you’re commercially aware, and you’re ready to run work rather than pass it along.
