A globally recognised defence manufacturer in Stockport is looking for a Fabricator to join its Northwest Engineering Centre of Excellence. You’ll be working as part of a dedicated team manufacturing equipment for long-term MOD programmes, using jigs and fixtures to produce aluminium components to engineering drawings and work instructions in a state-of-the-art facility.

What you’ll be doing:

• Fabricating aluminium components using jigs and fixtures in line with fabrication procedures and engineering drawings
• Using hand tools and appropriate measuring instruments throughout
• Identifying health and safety hazards prior to commencing work and complying with EHS policies throughout
• Reporting equipment faults or unusual occurrences through approved maintenance procedures
• Booking hours and activities accurately on SAP

What you need:

• NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline or equivalent
• Practical fitting or fabrication experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
• Comfortable using hand tools and measuring equipment
• Awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices
