Senior Highways Engineer (Projects & Infrastructure)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Highways Engineer to join their Highways team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded highways professional with experience across multiple service areas, including traffic management, parking, highway maintenance, and drainage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the design, delivery, and site supervision of both minor and major highway projects.
• Manage a varied workload across highways and infrastructure-related projects.
• Provide technical expertise across traffic management, parking services, highway maintenance, and drainage.
• Work independently to deliver projects and service outcomes.
• Engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leadership teams, elected members, contractors, and external partners.
• Support the successful delivery of highways services in line with organisational objectives and industry best practice.

Requirements:

• A broad background across highways services, including:
  • Traffic management
  • Parking services
  • Highway maintenance
  • Drainage
• The ability to work independently and manage their own workload.
• Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership teams and Councillors within a local government environment.
• Proven experience leading the design, delivery, and site supervision of both minor and major highway projects.
